ABOUT OUR CLASSES
& A SELECTION OF RECENT WORK CREATED BY OUR STUDENTS

Adult beginner and improver classes

Adult art classes are specifically aimed at beginners and improvers and focus on watercolour & drawing. Through a series of projects, you will be taught skills, technique & theory, learn about artists and art movements and over time, you will be encouraged to develop your own painting style. We cover subject matter as diverse as still life, landscapes, animals, architecture and more!

Many of our adult students had not done any art since school, but just wanted to have a go... so when we say beginner, we mean complete beginners.

Classes are skills based and each student works independently at their own pace so you do not need to worry about what anyone else is doing, unless you want to have a look around!

Classes are an hour (£15) but you can book back to back for a double if you wish to stay longer.

There are no prescriptive courses or official start dates and you do not need to stick to the same class and time each week, so you can just book and begin whenever you want! Having said this, art skills are best built up little and often, especially if you are a complete beginner, so you will get the greatest benefit and see most progress if you are able to attend classes with some regularity over a period of time - these classes are not suitable for those looking for a one-off art class.

You can buy a class pass in a block of 3 or 6, which is significantly cheaper than buying a single lesson.

All materials are provided.

Teen art classes (age 12-15)

Teen art classes run as 6 week courses, and they run alongside the half terms at school.

Teen classes are skills based, with reference to artists, art history and art movements, but we also encourage experimentation and personalisation of activities, to engender a sense of freedom and encourage creative thinking. We try to stretch and challenge the teens to master different media and techniques. Over several courses, we ensure that the teens are exposed to a wide range of media and each half term will be a new project.

All materials are provided and the full courses usually cost around £81, and must be attended as a full course, rather than as one off classes.

Children's art classes (age 8-11) * not currently running until further notice

Children's art classes run as 5 or 6 week courses, and they run alongside the half terms at school.

Our children's classes are skills based, with reference to artists, art history and art movements, but we also encourage experimentation and personalisation of activities, to engender a sense of freedom and encourage creative thinking. Over several courses, we ensure children are exposed to a wide range of media and each half term will be a new project.

All materials are provided and these courses are between £65 and £81, and must be attended as a full course, rather than as one off classes.
